What's On - Events and Activities

Thorpe Park Resort is built for families with older children, teenagers and adults who want a full day of rides rather than a short stop. The park's line-up includes six world-class coasters, water rides and smaller attractions that help mixed-age groups split their day around height limits and thrill levels.

Thorpe Park Lates: Summer Sounds runs on selected August dates, with the park open until 9pm on 14, 15, 21 and 22 August 2026. Standard park entry includes extended ride time and live DJ sets at the Launch Pad, with entertainment schedules subject to change.

The Big 6 Coasters

The headline act is the Big 6 - Thorpe Park's six world-class coasters that form the backbone of any visit. Lead with Hyperia, the UK's tallest and fastest rollercoaster at 236ft and speeds of over 80mph, before taking on Stealth - which launches from 0 to 80mph in under 2 seconds from a standing start. The Swarm, SAW - The Ride, Colossus and Nemesis Inferno round out the six, offering everything from ten inversions on Colossus to the inverted thrills of Nemesis Inferno.

If you are visiting with younger or less confident riders, there are still family options including gentler rides and attractions with lower minimum height requirements - but this is not a toddler-first park. Check height rules before you travel and pre-book any free under 1.2m tickets you need during checkout.

Water Rides

Water rides add another layer to the day, especially in warmer weather. Tidal Wave (an 85ft plunge), Storm Surge, Rumba Rapids and Depth Charge are the ones most families build into their route. Pack spare clothes if anyone plans to ride them - Tidal Wave in particular lives up to its name.

Annual Passes

Planning more than one visit? Thorpe Park Annual Passes start from £64, and Merlin Annual Passes - which cover Thorpe Park alongside other Merlin attractions - are also available. Check the official site for the latest pass pricing and any active offers before you book.

Tidal Wave, Storm Surge, Rumba Rapids and Depth Charge add plenty of soak factor to the day. These rides are popular in warmer weather and some have lower height thresholds than the biggest coasters.
