Getting creative and messy isn’t just exclusive to your kids. Parents need to find mindful moments in the day where they can catch up with friends and unleash their creative juices! Not only is painting (or any creative activity) good for the soul but it’s a great way to forget about all your daily stresses as you chat and paint the evening away.

Another great thing about Drink and Draw Events in the UK is that there are no rules!!! You don’t have to be the next Claude Moet or Leonardo Da Vinci. Scribble with some chalk, chuck some acrylic onto your canvas, and go over it with fine liners, sharpies or graphite – that canvas is all yours.

If you want to shake up your days or nights out with your friends then this is such a great activity to take part in. You’ll be giggling, and chatting, and the time will fly by! Alcohol is always optional so if you prefer staying away from this part of the event that’s fine, most events will have soft drinks too.

These events are super fun and super casual which is great for busy parents! Running every Thursday, as of March 2023, the lounge area of Ducie Warehouse opens its doors from 6pm – 9pm to welcome bored and creative folks to channel all their inner artist. You can spend your hard-earned money on delicious food and drinks while the DJ plays in the background.

Okay, this one’s a pretty snappy approach to life drawing making it exciting and in lots of ways more interesting! Think speed dating but with some paper and charcoal.

At The Safari Lounge this August, guests are welcomed to a cosy setting for just over £20 each. You’ll study a life model who will change positions every five minutes. This will produce unique and unexpected results from each person participating, which can range from a bold statement to ghostly impressions…

Your ticket price pays for the art supplies which will be provided to you during the session, so all you need to do is turn up!

Local illustrator, Andrew Thomson, will hold this fun artistic soiree in August but this is also a monthly class so keep your eyes peeled for upcoming events!

You are encouraged to bring your own art supplies but there are also art supplies available onsite. The Boiler is a great space to unwind and get creative however you wish.

If you are looking to meet fellow art lovers or make new friends then joining community activities like these is really positive. Making friends can get harder in lots of ways as an adult, so these groups are a great way to meet people.

All ages are welcome to come along for a drink, some street food, and to socialise with new people at this monthly social event.

Booking is required, however, each attendee will receive a lovely yellow York Creatives badge, and 10% off drinks at Piccadilly Tap and the Bohemian Bar.
