During November and December, this lively seaside town is full of fun activities and attractions that will make your Christmas extra special. From winter markets and fairs to snow-covered carousels and the twinkling lights of the famous Blackpool Illuminations, Blackpool has something for everyone.

Skating Rink

With a view of the iconic Blackpool Tower, the outdoor ice skating rink on Blackpool’s promenade is festive fun for all the family. A great place for photos too! The rink is 20 metres in length and forms a sparkly centrepiece for the Christmas By The Sea village.

Best of all it’s free! So take advantage of fun on the ice whether you are a beginner or expert skater. Skate aids are available to hire for young children and anyone who needs a helping hand while gaining confidence ice skating.

Snow Slide

Are you ready for a thrilling ride down from the 100ft-lomg snow slide at Christmas By The Sea? Grab a rubber ring, hold on tight and zoom down!

Both the rink and snow slide are conveniently located close to other Christmas By The Sea attractions. Perfect for exploring!

Don’t miss the colourful light installations twinkling along Blackpool Promenade. Marvel at the giant illuminated baubles, lighting up the winter sky like jewels.

Then, make sure to grab a selfie under Spiro. The popular walk through tunnel provides a rainbow of colour above and deserves a place on your Instagram grid! There’s other smaller installations too that kids will love including an ice cream and the iconic I Love Blackpool sign.

Any festive event wouldn’t be complete without Christmas cabins serving a variety of seasonal snacks and goodies. The Christmas By The Sea Christmas chalets are lovely to browse for gifts and take a moment to enjoy a mulled wine or warming hot chocolate.

Feeling hungry? Then tuck in to traditional Bavarian sausages, churros or Yorkshire pudding wraps. All available from Christmas chalets along the promenade. Yummy!

Let it Snow!

As you take in the Christmassy scenes and atmosphere you may even find you get showered in a dusting of snow. Yes really! It’s not often Blackpool gets the magical white stuff but you are guaranteed it at Christmas By The Sea!

Special cannons near the promenade will be bursting out snow on the hour throughout the event. Get your camera ready for snowy, festive family pics!

Blackpool Transport is full of Christmas cheer and runs a special service during the festive period. During November and December, Heritage tram Tours will offer visitors to Christmas By The Sea Blackpool something extra special.

Hop on board their festive-themed Heritage Tram for a family tram ride with a bit of Christmas magic!
