The Pumpkin Funyard at The Marsh Maze

A pound a head gets you into the Pumpkin Funyard, and adults pay the same as children, which makes this one of the cheaper ways to start an October afternoon on Romney Marsh. The pumpkins themselves are bought separately and priced by size, and there are thousands to choose between.

How you pick is up to you. You can walk into the pumpkin patch itself, or take one from the pumpkins set out on the funyard fields, clear of the mud, which is the easier option with small children or a pushchair.

Most of the funyard stays open through the pumpkin season, so the trip amounts to more than a field. The bumpy express, the go-karts and the air pillow are all running. The water fight arena is the one part closed for the season.

Two things families have come for in past years are not happening this year. The main maize maze failed as a crop through lack of water, and the sunflower maze failed completely as well, so neither is open in 2026. That is worth knowing before you set out, particularly if the maze was the draw.

The kitchen stays fully open, with pumpkin spiced latte and orange hot chocolate on the seasonal drinks list. Parking is free and there are toilets on site. Season passes are sold for the funyard if you expect to come back, and event days at the venue are pre-book only.
