The London Pumpkin Patch at Parsons Green

A pumpkin patch in the middle of Fulham is an unusual thing, and for the October half term one takes over Parsons Green itself. Winding paths lead between spooky displays and autumnal backdrops set up for photographs, with roaming characters moving through the site. Entry gives you the run of a wide selection of pick your own pumpkins, though the pumpkins themselves are paid for separately.

Trick-or-Treat Lane is a separate add-on for children aged three and over. It opens with a storytime before you set off down a row of colourful doors to knock on, where friendly characters hand out sweet treats and the occasional playful trick. An SEN session for the add-on runs on Monday 26 October from midday to 1pm.

Stay later and the patch changes character. From 6pm, Twilight Magic lights the site with a canopy of lanterns and twinkling lights, which is the version to aim for if your children are happy being out after dark.

Tickets must be booked in advance online and arrive by email on the day you book, so have them ready to be scanned at the entrance. The site is cashless, so bring a card for pumpkins, warm drinks and snacks. There is a supervised buggy park at the entrance, free of charge, and a Parent's Rest Area with hot drinks, snacks and shelter when the weather turns. Dogs are not allowed on site, although registered assistance dogs are always welcome. Under 2s go free and carers go free throughout.
