What to Expect...
Tickets here are sold by the car rather than by the head, which changes the sums for a bigger family: one price covers the vehicle, and a pumpkin comes with it. Any pumpkins after that are priced by size.
The picking field is part of The Montreal Estate at Sundridge, west of Sevenoaks, and looks out over open countryside. A maize maze is included with the ticket, and there is a carving tent on site with a carving competition running, so a pumpkin can be finished before it goes in the boot.
Entry works by timed slot. Four 90-minute slots run on each open day and booking is required, though the estate says walk-ins are welcome on quieter days if there is capacity. That is worth reading as what it is: a possibility rather than a plan.
The calendar is a patchwork rather than a straight run. The patch opens on selected Fridays and Saturdays through early October, then on longer stretches of days across the half-term period, so check the day you want before you build a weekend around it.
Dogs are welcome on leads, provided they are friendly with children and with other dogs, and parking on site is free and included in the ticket. The entrance sits on Dryhill Lane, a couple of hundred yards from the main road junction, which is easy to drive past if you are not watching for it.
