Pumpkin Picking on the Loch Lomond Faerie Trail

Seven spells are hidden along a mile of woodland at Glen Luss, and the job is to find them all and break the Wicked Witch's curse. The Scary Trail has 14 stops and takes most families between one and two hours, running from 2 October to 1 November 2026 with two Mondays off in the middle.

The pop-up Pumpkin Patch is back this year and has moved to a bigger field. It sits inside Faerie Tale Farm at the end of the trail, and entry to it comes with every ticket. There is no patch-only ticket, so the pumpkins are what you walk towards rather than a separate stop; the pumpkins themselves are picked and paid for on the day, or added to your ticket when you book for a small saving.

If the spooky sections are more than your children want, you are welcome to walk straight through at your own pace to the pumpkins. Nobody is obliged to linger at the frightening bits.

Book before you visit, as tickets cannot be guaranteed on the day. Dogs on leads are welcome this year, on the trail and in the patch. The trail is not wheelchair accessible: there are steep sections, steps and a narrow bridge. Parking is at Luss South Car Park, where charges apply, with Luss North as the overflow, and there are picnic benches at the far end of the south car park if you bring food.
