Pumpkin Picking at The Secret Farm

Five pounds a head gets you a good deal more than a walk through a pumpkin field. The ticket covers parking and the use of a wheelbarrow, and the site itself is set up as a play area: a straw maze, straw bale climbing, a ground trampoline, space hoppers, swings and climbing equipment, plus mini tractors and Berg pedal go-karts for children.

Around all that there is a pumpkin wash, a graveyard and a spooky beach to photograph, and activities designed to keep children moving, including hunt the golden pumpkin, an activity trail, arts and crafts and various games. Children's entertainers and children's shows run during the event as well.

Tickets are booked into timed arrival slots on selected dates through October, and everyone aged 3 and over needs one of their own. Children under 3 do not need a ticket at all. There are toilets on site, and closing is earlier than usual on the last two days of the month, so check the day you want before you book.

Three sessions sit outside the normal pattern. A Special Educational Needs session runs before general opening, from quarter to nine in the morning. A Home Ed and Childminders session runs on Monday 12 October. And a Secret Pumpkin SMASH and Pumpkin Giveaway takes place on Sunday 1 November 2026, once the patch itself has finished for the year.
