Pumpkin Picking at The BIG Sheep

Pumpkin picking is one thread in a much larger half term event. You pick a pumpkin, carve it and take it home for £3, collecting your carving token when you arrive, and the park asks for that part to be reserved online rather than decided on the day.

The rest is a full park day covered by the same admission. Rides include Rampage, which the park calls North Devon's biggest, highest and fastest roller coaster, the Twister, and gentler options such as the Swan Pedalo. There is no extra charge for rides once you are through the gate.

Live shows run through the day, with the Duck Trials, the Sheep Race and the Sheepy Show, and there are animals to feed and meet, among them sheep and goats, lambs, piglets, calves and donkeys. Indoor play covers a death slide, a magic carpet ride, a scary swing bridge, tumble towers and mazes, which matters on a wet day, and outdoors there are giant and mini jumping pillows.

The Halloween layer on top brings a Monster Glow Party with neon lights, spooky decorations and magical surprises, plus Halloween games and prizes. Fancy dress is encouraged and costumes are judged. For the youngest there is a Baby Sensory Room, and a separate Halloween Toddler Takeover runs on five October mornings before the main event starts.

Booking online rather than paying at the gate saves up to £4 a ticket, with a £1 booking fee per ticket, so a family who plan ahead pay noticeably less than one who turn up on spec.
