Pumpkin Picking at Millets Farm Centre

Thousands of homegrown pumpkins fill the field at Frilford, and the ticket you choose decides what else comes with them. Off peak days cover entry to the field and nothing more, which suits a family who only want to pick and go. Peak days cost a little more and add timetabled entertainment and story times, so the visit stretches out.

Pumpkins are not included either way. You choose them in the field and pay for them before leaving, with pricing guides displayed at the entry and the exit so you can judge the cost as you go. Individual pumpkins run from £1 to £10.

The pumpkin field is one part of a much bigger farm centre. Sprouts Play Barn, Farmyard Golf, Wild Wheels, the Animal Walkway, a carousel and Ferris wheel and a maize maze all sit on the same site, along with a restaurant and a farm shop, which is why families here tend to stay two or three hours rather than one.

Two SEND sessions run before general opening, on Sunday 11 October and Monday 26 October from 9am to 10am. Pet dogs are not allowed at the pumpkin event except on the dog friendly day on 31 October; assistance dogs are welcome on leads in all areas. Motorised mobility aids cannot go into the pumpkin field for safety reasons, which is worth knowing before you set off.

Later in the month the field reopens after dark for Pumpkins by Night, a separately ticketed event. Bippo's Halloween Circus runs from 25 to 31 October, with Spooktacular Discos on 28, 29 and 30 October.
