Pumpkin Picking at Llynclys Hall Farm Shop

Charging by the vehicle rather than by the head is the thing that sets this Shropshire pick your own apart. One ticket covers everyone in the car, so a carful of cousins costs the same as a couple, and the time you book is simply your arrival slot. Once you are through the gate you can stay in the field as long as you like.

The patch is planted with pumpkins in a range of sizes and colours, from small ones that sit in a child's hands to larger fruit for carving. Pumpkins are paid for separately from entry and start at £1, so you can pick as few or as many as you want and settle up at the end.

Dogs are welcome as long as they stay on a lead, which makes this an easy stop for families who would rather not leave the dog at home. A coffee van parks up on site for the run of the pumpkin patch, and the farm shop is open alongside it if you want to turn the trip into a proper shop.

Entry has to be booked ahead online, so this is not a place to turn up on spec on a busy Saturday. Contactless payment is preferred at the farm, though cash is still accepted. The farm sits at Llynclys, just south of Oswestry, and the patch runs every day through October.
