Pumpkin Picking at Lewis of London Ice Cream Farm

The ice cream at this Barnet farm is made on site, and for three weeks in October the fields around it fill up with a Halloween trail. Once Upon a Pumpkin is new for 2026, a story trail pitched at children of roughly two to eight, and it sits alongside the Grisly Grab, the Deadly Duck Races, a giant spider web and the Dare to Dig Graveyard. Marshmallow toasting is part of the ticket too. The one thing that is not included is the Poison Onion Cannon, which costs extra and is paid for at the event.

Pumpkins are priced individually by size and variety, starting from a few pounds, so you can pick as many or as few as you like. If you would rather settle it in advance, Pumpkin Tickets bundle a medium pumpkin into the ticket price. The homemade ice cream is sold separately and is worth factoring in.

Most families are done in about an hour, which makes this an easy morning or afternoon rather than a full day out. Sessions are capacity controlled and popular dates sell out, so book before you travel; tickets are sometimes available on arrival, but entry cannot be guaranteed. The event runs whatever the weather and tickets are non-refundable, so dress for mud and wear boots you do not mind ruining.

Children under 92cm pay a reduced price, measured by a Little Pumpkins Measurer at the entrance, and babies under one go free. Fancy dress is encouraged for grown-ups as well as children. If you are visiting in the last week of October, Creepy Creatures brings a separate animal encounter with Wild Fangs to the farm from 24 to 31 October.
