Pumpkin Picking at Heads of Ayr Farm Park

Wheelbarrows and sledges are handed out at the patch here, which tells you something about the scale of it. There are thousands of pumpkins, described by the farm park as a bigger patch than ever, and entry to it is included with standard park admission between 10 and 25 October 2026.

For very young children there is a sheltered Munchkin Patch set apart from the main field. Paint your own pumpkin stations are set up on site, autumn games and family photo spots are dotted through the patch, and marshmallow toasting and doughnuts run through the season.

The same ticket covers the rest of the park, which is where the day really stretches out. Donkeys, Highland cows, llamas, alpacas and lemurs are all outdoors, and the Little Critters Indoor Animal Barn and the Play n Wild Indoor Adventure Barn are included as well, so there is somewhere dry to go if the weather turns.

The one cost to plan for is the pumpkins themselves. Picking one to take home is charged on top of admission and paid for at the patch on the day, by cash or card. There is no time limit on how long you spend among them once you are inside the park. Tickets are booked in advance through the farm park's own ticketing site, with a small service fee added to each one.
