Pumpkin Picking at Billingley Christmas Tree Farm

New for 2026, the pumpkin patch is the latest addition to a Yorkshire farm better known for growing Christmas trees. The pumpkins are grown on the same ground as the trees, in multiple varieties and a whole range of shapes and sizes.

How you pick depends on the year. The farm decides each season, based on the weather and where the crop has grown, whether visitors go out to the field or choose from pumpkins brought up to the farm. Either way the display is set up indoors in a floodlit barn, which means a wet Saturday does not write off the trip, and wheelbarrows are provided for carting your pumpkins about. Seasons, the refreshment hut on site, opens alongside the seasonal events with hot drinks and snacks through the autumn.

Ahead of the weekend openings there is a separate Grand Opening Day on 27 September 2026, a limited-ticket event that has to be booked. Ticket holders get first choice of pumpkins and can pre-select a Christmas tree from the plantation, and the Christmas Emporium is open selling seasonal goods. Arrival times are chosen from an online calendar and numbers in each slot are restricted.

Wear boots whatever the forecast says. The ground is uneven, contains tree stumps and is affected by the weather, so this is not a visit for smart shoes.
