Pumpkin Picking at Becketts Farm

An indoor pumpkin patch is a rare thing, and it is what makes this one worth knowing about when the forecast is against you. The whole Pumpkin Extravaganza is under cover on the farm just south of Birmingham, so there is no mud to negotiate and no need to abandon the plan when it rains.

Entry is £5 per child and adults come in free, with one pumpkin per paying child included in that price. Alongside the picking there are carving tables where children can cut their pumpkin at no extra cost, with an adult supervising, plus games and photo opportunities set up around the event. Worth knowing if you came in previous years: for 2026 the event is running without entertainers.

There is no advance booking. You turn up and pay on the door, which suits a morning where you are not sure over breakfast whether you are going anywhere. The event runs for eight days, from the Saturday before Halloween through to Halloween itself, and the daily hours are short, so an early start is sensible on the busier days.

Becketts is a farm shop and restaurant as well as an events site, so the visit stretches out easily into lunch. Food and drink during the event are served at the Blood-Thirsty Goat. Dogs are not allowed within the event space. Parking is on site and the first four hours are free, which is more than enough for the patch and a meal afterwards.
