Pumpkin Fest at Manor Farm Fruits

You choose rather than pick here. The pumpkins are displayed in large poly tunnels instead of being cut from a muddy field, which means a clear view of what you are choosing between: orange, green, white, warty and stripy pumpkins, alongside Munchkins, gourds and squashes, all homegrown on the farm. Sledges are provided to gather everything up, and they need returning to the drop-off point.

This is the tenth year of Pumpkin Fest. Entry takes in full access to farm play, with inflatables, space hoppers, a climbing frame, slides and straw bale pyramids, weather permitting, and it includes the live shows: Willow Boo Witch's Tipi Tales, joined on peak dates by Wardy Gourdy's Wacky Lab Show.

Also included are the Tunnel of Spirits, a Day of the Dead inspired children's maze, the Trick or Treat Doors, Willow Boo's Enchanted Emporium gift shop and the resident scarecrows, Strawbs and Pippin. Pip the Pumpkin's Autumn Adventure Trail and the Monster Mash Maize Maze are paid add-ons unless you buy the Ultimate Combo ticket, which bundles them in. The trail is aimed at families with children aged 4 and over, the maize maze at children aged 5 and over.

Food comes from a snack van and the Strawberry Cabin, and parking is free. Most of the site is accessible with a pushchair or wheelchair and there is a disabled toilet, but the Day of the Dead trail and the maize maze are not suitable for either. Dogs are welcome across Pumpkin Fest with a ticket of their own, though not inside the pumpkin tunnels.

Booking online in advance is worth the effort: walk-in tickets cost £2 more per person and entry cannot be guaranteed if the farm is fully booked. The session time you select is your arrival window, not a limit on how long you stay.
