What to Expect...
Straightforward is the word for this one. Entry to the field costs nothing, there is nothing to book, and you pay only for the pumpkins you carry out. For families who want an hour of picking without a programme of activities attached, that is the whole appeal.
The field holds pumpkins, squashes and gourds in a range of sizes, starting at £3 each, and you choose from the crop yourself. It is worth knowing what is not running this year: the farm's Sunflower Experience and Maize Maze will not open in 2026, because extreme weather over recent months severely affected crop growth, and the site is reopening in October for pumpkin picking alone.
The ground is mostly flat with some inclines, and mixes grass with bare earth, so how muddy it gets depends entirely on the weather in the week before you visit. Boots are the sensible choice. Portaloos and hand-washing facilities are on site, and dogs are not permitted anywhere in the field.
Parking is free and both cash and card are taken, so there is little to organise beyond picking a dry day and bringing something to carry your pumpkins home in.
Event Highlights
Free entry, and you pay only for pumpkins
There is no admission charge and no booking to arrange, so a visit can be decided on the morning itself. Parking on site is free, and the only money you spend is on the pumpkins, squashes and gourds you choose. Both cash and card are accepted.
No maize maze or sunflowers this year
The farm has confirmed that its Sunflower Experience and Maize Maze will not open in 2026, after extreme weather over recent months severely affected crop growth. The site reopens in October for pumpkin picking only, so come for the field rather than a full day of attractions.
A flat field of pumpkins, squashes and gourds
The picking field is mostly flat with a few inclines, and mixes grass with bare earth, so it can be muddy after rain. It holds pumpkins, squashes and gourds in a range of sizes. Portaloos and hand-washing facilities are provided on site.
