Malice Returns: Halloween at Mayfield Lavender

Mayfield's autumn offer is a piece of theatre rather than a field to wander. Malice Returns: The Sorcerer's Apprentice is a new follow-up to Malice in Lavenderland, and it is billed as immersive, meaning visitors take part in the story rather than watch it happen in front of them.

A pumpkin patch is part of the experience, so there is something to carry home as well as something to remember. The event runs from 10 to 31 October 2026, which covers both October half term and the weekends leading up to it.

Visits are booked into two-hour time slots, and that changes how you plan the day. You are choosing an arrival window rather than turning up when it suits, and booking is online and in advance through the venue's own site. Early Bird tickets were released in August 2026 and closed at nine in the evening on Wednesday 26 August, so anyone booking now is paying the standard rate.

One thing to get right before you set off: this is not the Banstead lavender field that most people picture when they hear the name. The Banstead field closes once the lavender season ends in late August, and the Halloween event is staged at Mayfield's Glasshouse site, also called The Secret Garden, on Reigate Road in Epsom. Put the Epsom address into the satnav, not the one you used in July.
