Loch Ness Pumpkins at Corrimony Farm, Glenurquhart

This is the first and original pumpkin patch in the Highlands, now in its seventh growing year, and it has welcomed more than 40,000 visitors to the Buntait patch. The setting is the point of difference: the field looks out across the Affric hills and Glenurquhart, about forty minutes west of Inverness on the road towards Cannich, so the drive is part of the day.

The most important thing to plan around is how short the season is. In 2026 Loch Ness Pumpkins runs on three days only, Saturday 17, Sunday 18 and Saturday 24 October, with two daytime sessions each day at 11.30am and 3.00pm. That is a fraction of the October long run most patches offer, so tickets go quickly and there is no turning up on spec.

Your ticket covers entry and all the activities in the field. Those include a bale run, a sunflower maze, suction archery, a barrel train and the Pumpkin Express train, plus photography spots laid out through the patch. Indoors there is table tennis and go karting, which is a genuine advantage on a wet Highland October day. What the ticket does not cover is pumpkins: the farm is explicit that no pumpkin is included and they are priced individually by size, from £1.50 up to £12. Pumpkins are harvested in September and laid out fresh each day for you to choose from, rather than cut from the vine.

Food comes from a Highland hog roast, soups, cakes and vegan Pumpkin Munchkins. The farm accepts card but recommends bringing cash, because mobile signal on site is unreliable. Dogs on leads are permitted on Saturday 24 October only, at all sessions on that day, and not on the other two dates.
