Halloween at Kents Cavern

For 2026, Kents Cavern is introducing new Halloween tours that go darker, taking visitors beyond the traditional daytime cave experience.

As the lights go down, the caves take on an entirely different atmosphere. Visitors will experience the prehistoric passages and chambers in a new way, with darker storytelling, Halloween theming and an atmosphere designed to bring the history and legends of the caves to life.

For the first time, Kents Cavern is opening its doors after dark for a brand-new Ghost Walk, exploring the darker stories surrounding one of Britain's oldest homes.

For thousands of years, humans have shared their homes with stories of ghosts, spirits and things that may linger beyond our world. Now, as Halloween approaches, visitors are invited into the ancient darkness of Kents Cavern to explore tales of haunted homes, restless spirits and the strange things said to dwell alongside us.

Set deep beneath the ground, surrounded by hundreds of millions of years of geological history and the remains of some of Britain's earliest inhabitants, the Ghost Walk brings together the ancient setting of Kents Cavern with stories of the supernatural.

This new experience is aimed at visitors aged 12 and over and runs on selected evenings from 15 October to 1 November 2026.

For families, Kents Cavern will also be running a Halloween Trick or Treat Trail, giving younger visitors the opportunity to explore the caves while searching for spooky surprises.

The attraction will be transformed with Halloween decorations and themed activities, while staff will also be getting into character throughout the Halloween period.

The result is a Halloween programme with something for everyone – from families looking for a fun day out to adults wanting to experience Kents Cavern after dark.
