Coppet Hill Pumpkin Day

Forty-five tickets, one afternoon, and that is the whole of Pumpkin Day at Purcombe Barn. It is not a month-long pick-your-own field; it is a single ticketed event on Friday 30 October 2026, and once the tickets have gone they have gone. Booking ahead is essential rather than advisable.

The shape of the afternoon is picking, then making. You choose your own pumpkin from the field and bring it back to the barn to carve or decorate under cover, which is a considerable comfort in Dorset at the end of October. Children can decorate Halloween biscuits, and Halloween activities and games run through the three hours. Prizes go to Best Fancy Dress and Best Carved Pumpkin, and fancy dress is encouraged, so it is worth digging the costume out before you set off.

Light refreshments are included in the ticket price. If you want more than that, hot dogs and a bar are available to buy on the day. Pumpkins are charged separately from the ticket, so budget for one per child rather than assuming entry covers them.

Coppet Hill is a farm near Whitchurch Canonicorum, west of Bridport, that also runs a summer sunflower field along with camping and glamping, so the barn and the field are set up for visitors rather than borrowed for the day.
