Our Arrival & First Impressions

Thorpe entrance

w arrived around 11.20 and the RAP entrance wasn't open but the attendant allowed us through a gate which led to the security guys direct. There wasn't really a main queue so didn't look too bad for everyone getting in. Security were great stopped someone trying to take in buzzballs, heads up people you can't bring in your own alcohol ! .

Activities Breakdown

One person's first ever ride on saw can you spot them
It's one way to cool off !!

As we had my sons friend with us, who had never been to Thorpe park before, we had to hit the big rides. So we kept an eye on ride times and joined queues when they were shortest and managed all the big rides. While stealth and swarm spent a long time down they did come up a few times so we ran to them as soon as they came up making their queues relatively short. Saw went down for essential cleaning 🫣 at one point so again we kept an eye and went when the queue first opened, 5 mins queue time ! My sons have nailed down exactly where the cameras are on all the rides so plenty of posing going on. Storm surge was the longest queue but still a great ride and the small lake inside the boats has improved. It's now more of small puddle and you can still remove you shoes. Make sure you shout and cheer as your boat starts off on storm surge, you are gonna have to be loud to beat our group though 😉

  1. 1

    Hyperia

Love this ride but the camera did age 3 of us by about 30 years 😂😂 great if you want to see your future 😂
    OMG🤣🤣
  2. 2

    Walking dead

No actors inside when we went but still a great ride and later in the day we did see actors outside the entrance to the ride chasing people 🫣😂😂
    Whose scared?
  3. 3

    Tidal wave

We took my sons friend on telling him he wouldn't get too wet 🫣 we may have lied a little. Absolutely soaked 🤣
    Oops🫢😂

Food & Drink

We have merlin passes so do get discounts on food and drink but only at the kiosks. If you want to use your discount do be careful where you go alot of place don't offer the discount.

The refillable drinks are currently not great but normal drinks in the shops aren't too bad and if likes us you mainly want to ride not having drinks to worry about is great. We don't take bags either so we don't have to worry when riding, zip pockets all the way. We had chips from the fish and chip kiosk by walking dead great food and if your lucky the zombies will be out scaring people while you eat!

Money-Saving Tip

Pack a picnic and leave it in the car. Cram in all your rides and eat on your drive home saves money on expensive food, time on stopping to eat and let's you ride all day. If you have to grab a snack chips or somethin similar small and easy to take to the queue with you is perfect.

Pros & Cons Summary

Positive

What We Loved

  • TickI loved the ride hosts on storm surge, they were getting everyone to cheer on the ride adding some energy to the ride. On a long day at a theme park it's great to see workers enjoying their day too.
  • TickThe ride dispatching has become very efficient. Getting people on and off in the fastest times possible which helps massively with the queue times.
Negative

Could Be Better

  • CrossThe queues can get mad busy you have to keep an eye on the app and be prepared to run!

Overall Verdict & Ratings

A* Tried & Tested - Day Out With The Kids
Safety & Cleanliness4.0

Mainly clean and plenty of people out with litter pickers just need customers to be cleaner.

Rides & Entertainment5.0

Love the rides here, the workers were amazing and the zombies were brilliant!

Food & Drink5.0

The food we had was fresh, tasty and not too bad on price.

Queues & Crowds4.0

Very busy but the queues weren't too bad. Some of the crowded areas had grumpy guests but easy enough to leave an area.

Fun & Delight5.0

Great fun riding and joking around.

Value for Money4.0

It is expensive without a merlin pass but worth it for the full day of family fun, memories and laughs.

The Final Verdict:

All in all a great day out, make the most of your day by checking queue times and being prepared to run. The whole day was great fun we hit all the big rides and left exhausted. We will definitely be going back very soon and can't wait for fright nights!
