Our Arrival & First Impressions

A nice greeting from a bear on our way in

A lovely entrance with a bear statue outside. You enter through the gift shop and there are a few funhouse mirrors to entertain the kids. Once entering the farm park you walk into a lovely outdoor play area and picnic benches. The facilities are clean and the park was tidy and well-organised.

Activities Breakdown

There is so much to do here! Lots of animals to see from cows and donkeys to owls and foxes. There are talks and interactive events with the animals at different times throughout the day as well which was lovely. In addition to this there are 2 outdoor play areas, a dinosaur trail and a huge soft play barn!

My toddler particularly loved the train and tractor in the outdoor play areas and the soft play area. Although the soft play did not have many tables outside of the separate cafe section, there were lots of ‘pockets’ on the walls for shoes so you didn’t really need to claim a table unless a member of the group was sitting down. We were lucky enough to go on a weekday when it was quiet but this could be an issue when it’s busy if adults are wanting to supervise children in the soft play without taking their bags with them.

Within the soft play there is fun for every age with wooden structures including as a pirate ship for younger children and a maze for over 4s. There are 2 different areas specifically for younger children: a baby area in the middle as you enter and a smaller soft play at the back as well as a role play town. For older children there are some amazing slides with vertical drops for the dare devils. Unfortunately there weren’t many slides for the younger children to enjoy - I would not have let my toddler go on any of the big slides on his own as he was too small, so he could only go on one of the slides but there was plenty of other things for him to enjoy so he didn’t miss it too much!

Overall we had a lovely day here.

Food & Drink

There are 2 cafes on site, one with a separate entrance that is attached to the car park and one in the soft play area. They were very accommodating at the soft play cafe for us filling up the baby bottles. There are lots of picnic areas so we took a packed lunch and did not purchase any food or drink.

Money-Saving Tip

There are lots of picnic areas around the farm, so if you are looking for a cheaper day out bring a packed lunch.

Pros & Cons Summary

Positive

What We Loved

  • TickLovely outdoor and indoor play areas for children to explore
  • TickVery well-kept farm with clean and tidy routes around
  • TickSo much choice in the play barn to entertain children with different interests!
Negative

Could Be Better

  • CrossThe farm area was a bit spread out and the route around the animals wasn’t circular so we did miss a few animals out
  • CrossThe outdoor play areas were aimed more towards older children - my little one loved the castle but couldn’t access it all
  • CrossWe didn’t see anywhere to leave bags in the soft play area if you didn’t want to take up a table

Overall Verdict & Ratings

A Tried & Tested - Day Out With The Kids
Safety & Cleanliness5.0

Very well-kept farm with toilets and sanitiser easily accessible throughout.

Rides & Entertainment3.0

Lots to do around the park, but some animals were spread out and there were so many paths that it is easy to miss some things if you don’t allow yourself enough time to explore.

Food & Drink3.0

Cannot comment on food quality but there were lots of picnic areas and 2 onsite cafes to choose from.

Queues & Crowds5.0

Absolutely no issues with this, but we did go midweek and arrived later in the day.

Fun & Delight3.0

My little boy loved the soft play and there was lots to occupy him here. We found the outdoor play area to be a bit big for him (and he really wanted to play in the castle!).

Value for Money5.0

Very reasonably priced for the amount of activities included!

The Final Verdict:

We loved our time at the farm and wish we had longer to explore the different areas! We would recommend to anyone travelling near the area as it was great value for money and we will definitely visit again if we are ever in the area!

Yellow Line
"We came for the animals, but my toddler went wild for the soft play - our highlight of a brilliant day out!"
