After watching Clarkson’s Farm, a visit to Diddly Squat Farm had been on our list for a while. Although we visited without the children, it was easy to see why it attracts so many families. The farm shop was buzzing, the local produce was excellent and there was a real sense of excitement in the air. Set in the beautiful Cotswolds countryside, it’s a unique place full of character. It can get busy, especially at peak times, but for fans of the show or anyone looking for something a little different, it’s well worth a visit!

Our Arrival & First Impressions

Diddly Squat Farm Shop!

Our first impression of Diddly Squat Farm was just how popular it was. We visited on a sunny day and the site was incredibly busy, with an events team directing vehicles into the parking areas as soon as we arrived.

Despite the crowds, everything felt well organised and there was a real buzz about the place.

We noticed visitors of all ages, from couples and groups of friends to families with young children, all eager to experience the famous farm for themselves.

Although we visited without our children this time, we left saying we’d love to return with them in the future!

Activities Breakdown

The atmosphere – From the moment we arrived, there was a real buzz around the farm. Despite the crowds, it felt friendly and welcoming, with visitors of all ages enjoying the experience!
Fresh, locally grown produce was beautifully displayed outside the farm shop, adding to the authentic farming feel of the whole experience.

Diddly Squat Farm is more about the overall experience than a long list of attractions, but that was part of its charm.

As fans of Clarkson’s Farm, one of the highlights was finally seeing the famous farm in person after following its journey on screen. We enjoyed browsing the farm shop, taking in the stunning countryside views and soaking up the atmosphere.

Of course, we couldn’t visit without trying the infamous burgers. They tasted incredible and were easily one of the highlights of our trip, although we couldn’t quite believe the price!

The whole site had a friendly, wholesome feel, with visitors of all ages enjoying the experience. While there aren’t lots of activities aimed specifically at children, we could easily see ourselves returning as a family in the future!

  1. 1

    Stunning Countryside Views

One of the standout highlights of our visit was the scenery. Wherever we looked, there were rolling fields, open countryside and beautiful views stretching for miles. Despite the popularity of Diddly Squat Farm, there were moments when we could simply sit back, relax and appreciate the peaceful surroundings. The views added so much to the experience and reminded us that this is a real working farm set within some truly stunning Cotswold countryside.
The views alone were worth the trip. With miles of open countryside in every direction, it was easy to forget just how close we were to one of the UK’s busiest farm attractions!
  2. 2

    From Screen to Reality

From Screen to Reality As fans of Clarkson’s Farm, one of the most exciting parts of our visit was finally seeing Diddly Squat in person. It was surreal to recognise locations we’d watched on screen and experience the atmosphere for ourselves. One of our favourite moments was FaceTiming our children while we were there. They’re huge fans of the show too and were completely in awe seeing the farm in real life. They were also more than a little jealous! Sharing the experience with them, even from a distance, made the visit feel even more special.
One of the most recognisable landmarks on the farm, the famous ‘Keep Off the Crops’ sign was a must-see for Clarkson’s Farm fans like us!
  3. 3

The Famous Diddly Squat Burger 🍔

No visit to Diddly Squat would have felt complete without trying the famous burger. It certainly lived up to expectations when it came to taste and was one of the best burgers we’ve had. We did have a bit of a shock when it came to the price, but that quickly became part of the experience and something we laughed about afterwards. Alongside the food, we enjoyed browsing the farm shop and seeing the range of fresh local produce on offer.
Worth the wait? Absolutely. Worth the price? We’re still debating that one! Either way, the famous Diddly Squat burger was delicious.

Food & Drink

Food is a big part of the Diddly Squat experience, and we were keen to try some of the items we’d seen featured on Clarkson’s Farm.

We opted for two of the famous burgers, fries, a summer drink and an elderflower cider. Everything tasted fantastic and the burgers certainly lived up to the hype. The only downside was the cost, with our order coming to just under £50.

While it felt expensive for a casual lunch, the quality was excellent and trying the food felt like an essential part of the overall Diddly Squat experience!

Money-Saving Tip

Parking is free, so one way to keep costs down is to set a budget before you visit the farm shop, as it’s very easy to get carried away with all the tempting local produce and merchandise on offer. If you’re visiting as a family, you could also consider sharing food items, as prices can quickly add up. Simply enjoying the atmosphere and beautiful countryside views won’t cost you a penny!

Overall Verdict & Ratings

A Tried & Tested - Day Out With The Kids
Safety & Cleanliness5.0

Despite the crowds, the site felt clean, well maintained and well organised. Staff managed parking efficiently and we felt comfortable throughout our visit.

Rides & Entertainment3.0

Diddly Squat is more about the overall experience than traditional attractions. Fans of the show will love exploring the farm, but younger children may find there is less to do than at a typical family attraction.

Food & Drink4.0

The food was delicious and the famous burger certainly lived up to expectations. The only downside was the cost, which was higher than we had anticipated.

Queues & Crowds3.0

There's no getting away from the fact that Diddly Squat is incredibly popular. We visited on a sunny day and were greeted by queues and a constant stream of visitors arriving throughout the day. However, what impressed us was how well everything was managed. An events team was on hand directing vehicles into the parking areas, helping things run as smoothly as possible. While some waiting is to be expected, the lively atmosphere and excitement of being there helped make the queues feel more manageable.

Fun & Delight5.0

We thoroughly enjoyed our visit and left with plenty of happy memories. One of the nicest things was seeing so many other people enjoying themselves too, from families and couples to groups of friends. It was clear that visitors had travelled from far and wide to experience Diddly Squat for themselves, which added to the excitement and atmosphere. Between the beautiful countryside, the connection to Clarkson's Farm and the friendly buzz around the site, it felt like a genuinely special place to spend a few hours.

Value for Money3.0

Free entry and parking are definite positives, but food, drinks and souvenirs can quickly add up. Whether it feels good value may depend on how big a fan of the show you are.

The Final Verdict:

Diddly Squat Farm is unlike anywhere else we've visited. While it doesn't offer the rides, play areas or packed activity schedules that many family attractions do, that's not really the point. The appeal lies in the atmosphere, the stunning countryside, the connection to Clarkson's Farm and the chance to experience a real working farm that has become a destination in its own right. Yes, it was busy and the food was more expensive than we'd expected, but we left feeling pleased we'd made the trip. One of our favourite moments was FaceTiming our children, who are huge fans of the show, and seeing how excited they were to get a glimpse of the farm. We would absolutely recommend Diddly Squat Farm to friends and family, particularly fans of Clarkson's Farm or anyone looking for a unique day out in the Cotswolds. We'd definitely visit again and next time we'll be bringing the children with us!
