Good Family Trip to Tower of London

Busy site but well organised queue that moved quickly. We should have looked at the map and highlights in advance but it was also fine to wander about.

We tried to see as much of the site as possible. We went to the Crown Jewels first to try to beat the queues but it was still very busy, even though we joined the queue before it opened. We then went to the White Tower and saw the armour, horse/soldier parade there, and some interactive things for kids on the top floor. Next we walked around the walls, then through the grounds in the middle, and then we found a shaded bench by the Fuselliers Museum to eat lunch. Make sure to see the ravens on the main grass (often where they are) and in cages close to entrance. The Traitors Gate was also quite unique, a gate through to the Thames by water.

We brought our own picnic, which worked well. The benches in front of the museum were shaded though busy so a small queue formed to get a space at lunchtime. There were plenty of benches in the sun if you were happy to sit out of the shade.
