We had a great short trip on the London Eye. The queue was long but there were definitely ways to make it more family friendly.

Our Arrival & First Impressions

London Eye.

The London Eye was so impressive on first site. It's well worth taking a flight. The queue was long when we arrived around 2pm. It moved reasonably quick but snacks for the queue were helpful for the little ones.

Activities Breakdown

Looking out at Houses of Parliament.
View of Houses of Parliament from London Eye.

We went on a pre-booked slot for the London Eye so arrived around 15 minutes before our time and we were allowed to join the queue right away. This took quite a while (at least 40 minutes) but it moved continuously. We didn't like that they made a big deal of taking a green screen image to make extra money but we were able to skip this. The trip itself was very nice and quite peaceful. It lasted about 30 minutes.

  1. 1

    Views from the top.

The views were great in all directions - and nicer on a sunny day so we were lucky.
  2. 2

    Cleanliness of the pod

The attraction felt very clean and they did a security and litter sweep after each pod emptied.
  3. 3

    Well managed queue

The queue was long but staff were making sure people knew where to move to next and it felt like a well managed process.

Food & Drink

Food and drink wasn't permitted on the London Eye itself but they seemed fine with the kids eating in the queue. There was no food to buy that I could see.

Money-Saving Tip

Take snacks for the queue.
