Meet the Creator

After around a 1.5-hour journey, we arrived at Drusillas Park as a large family of 5 adults and 7 children. Entry was really easy, with no long queues, which was especially helpful with such a big group. There were toilets conveniently located near the entrance, and we were soon on our way along the zoo trail. As soon as we entered, the children were given activity booklets, which immediately got them excited and involved. There was so much to see straight away, and the children were eager to explore everything, making a really positive first impression of the park.

Drusillas Park has a great mix of attractions and activities for families with children of different ages. Our group included both toddlers and older children, and there was plenty to keep everyone entertained throughout the day. We particularly enjoyed exploring the zoo trail, where there was lots to see and discover, as well as the play areas, rides and splash park, which was a big hit with the children. The rides offered a good variety, with options suitable for younger children as well as more adventurous older ones. There are also two additional activities available at an extra cost, but we chose not to take part in these and didn't feel like we were missing out, as there was already so much included to enjoy. Overall, there was more than enough to keep our large family busy for the whole day.

We took a picnic with us, which worked really well for our large family and meant we could bring plenty of snacks to keep everyone going throughout the day. There are several food and drink options available at Drusillas Park, including a Starbucks on site, as well as ice creams and other treats. My son and I did buy some cold drinks, and a juice carton and a cup of Pepsi came to £6 in total. We noticed that bottled drinks weren't available, so drinks were served in cups or cartons. Other members of our group enjoyed ice creams during the day, which were a lovely treat. Overall, bringing a picnic and plenty of snacks was a good option for us, particularly with seven children to keep fed throughout a busy day.
Pack a lunch and drinks. Plenty of spaces to refill water bottles throughout the park.
We regularly saw cleaners around the park and didn’t notice any areas that were particularly unclean. The toilets were also well maintained, which was great with so many children!
There was genuinely something for everyone in our group, despite the wide age range. From bigger rides to smaller, free ride-on machines, all the children found plenty to enjoy.
We took our own picnic, which worked really well for our large group. We did buy a few bits while we were there and, as expected for a theme park/zoo, prices were on the expensive side. We were very happy with the amount of picnic areas!
We were pleasantly surprised by how little time we spent queuing. It was very busy, particularly around the splash zone and play park, but we could still access everything we wanted to.
We had a really enjoyable family day out. With seven children ranging in age, we weren’t sure how well it would suit everyone, but there was plenty to keep all of them entertained and we’d happily visit again.
For a large family group, the cost can certainly add up, but we felt there was plenty to see and do throughout the day. The variety of attractions made it feel like a full day out.
We were pleasantly surprised by just how great the day was! With such a large family and a wide range of ages, there was something for everyone, with plenty of fun and educational experiences along the way. There were no unexpected costs, and the fact that all seven children were asleep by the time we started the drive home says it all! We’d definitely visit again.
