Our Arrival & First Impressions

Elephants

The entrance was spacious and no queues to get through the ticket checkers. We were immediately welcomed by the elephants splashing in the water.

Activities Breakdown

Toucan
Red Lemur

The zoo has lots of animals to view, with a good mix of viewing from a distance and walk through experiences.

It also has some other activities when you need a break from walking around such as the off road driving experience for kids which my son enjoyed very much, and the lazy boat trip which unfortunately we ran out of time for.

  1. 1

    The elephants

A very informative talk about the elephants right by the entrance as we arrived while the elephants had fun in the water.

    Rhino

Seeing a rhino is always impressive and Chester zoo didn’t disappoint.
    Big proud rhino
  3. 3

    The Tepir

The Tepir was huge, much bigger than I remember them being so was a surprise to see.

Food & Drink

we booked a table at the pub in the zoo for lunch, it wasn’t particularly busy on this day but I’d still recommend booking ahead.

The food here was excellent and all the generations had plenty of options to sit out tastes.

Money-Saving Tip

Plenty of picnic benches around the zoo, some of which were covered of you wanted to bring your own food
