Our Arrival & First Impressions

Standard zoo pic

as soon as we arrived i could tell it was BUSY. WEe had to park in the furthest possible car park which meant quite a long walk with the pram through gravel, dirt tracks and uneven surfaces. Not a huge deal but I straight away realised crocs and flip flops were a bad idea. (OUR feet were FILTHY within minutes)

The zoo is doing £10 entry tickets (around £35 for the 3 of us with booking fees) and was 6bweeks holidays so we expected it to be busy

Activities Breakdown

First we watched the kids show,

The 3 ladies were very sweet and enthusiastic but every child looked bored haha. I think the budget for the show is unfortunately very low haha. But to be honest it was nice to sit down for 15 mins and have a rest!

WWe walked around to spot the animals, the kids loved the gibbons and monkeys. The meercats were very sweet and entertaining. There isn't a huge amount of animals here but enough to entertain young children.

We popped to the play park but we visited on a very hot day so we didn't stop for too long. I will say that the park / zoo everywhere is DUSTY and dirty. We came home filthy top to bottom somehow so I would not recommend wearing nice clothes or open shoes.

Food & Drink

optionsw stopped to buy some chips which took 20 minutes. The whole park seemed understaffed for it being 6 weeks holidays with only one member of staff on each section trying to serve and cook.

We also queued up for ice creams and when we got to the front there were only 2 ice creams left to choose from. (This was only at midday)

Money-Saving Tip

Take a picnic

Overall Verdict & Ratings

C Tried & Tested - Day Out With The Kids
Safety & Cleanliness2.0

Clean enough bathrooms but out of soap etc and we come home filthy

Rides & Entertainment2.0

I would say for toddlers or up to age 6 this is a lovely afternoon out

Food & Drink1.0

Took so so long and alot of things were out of stock

Queues & Crowds3.0

Very busy but it was 6 weeks holidays

Fun & Delight3.0

My 3 year old had a lovely day. My 8 year old would have been very bored if he didn't have his school friend with us

Value for Money2.0

I would rather pay the extra next time and go to a larger zoo like Colchester or jimmys farm

The Final Verdict:

It was a handy day out for it being round the corner. But I would not travel more than 30 mins to get here.
