Meet the Creator

Although I had visited Skylark many years ago, I was amazed by how much it had changed and developed since then. The attraction felt bigger, better and packed with even more activities for families to enjoy. As soon as we arrived, we headed straight to the goat enclosure, which has always been one of our favourite parts of any farm visit! The children loved watching them, and it was the perfect way to start our day. From those first few moments, it was clear there was plenty to see, do and explore.
There was so much included in the Easter event that we genuinely struggled to fit everything in! The Easter trail was one of the children’s favourite activities, with them racing ahead to find the next clue while we tried to keep up.
The tractor ride was a lovely chance to sit down for a few minutes and enjoy the surroundings before heading off to our next activity. We also watched the pig racing, which was great fun and had everyone choosing a favourite. Scarlett took the competition very seriously and was absolutely delighted when her pig won – I think she was more excited about that than some of the Easter activities!
The huge bouncing pillow was an instant hit and kept the children entertained for ages. Another highlight was the giant slides. They had apparently just been cleaned, which meant they were incredibly fast – so fast that we all ended up absolutely flying down them and laughing the whole way! 😂
The pedal go-karts were a huge hit with Grayson and me. What started as a quick go turned into several laps and a very competitive race or two! Sometimes it’s the simplest activities that end up being the most memorable.
We also spent time feeding the newborn lambs, which was a really special experience, especially during Easter. The goats were another family favourite and somewhere we found ourselves returning to throughout the day.
One of the standout moments was the magic show. Esmé was delighted when she was picked to take part, and seeing her confidence shine through made it even more memorable for us as parents. She was a natural!
With animal encounters, entertainment, outdoor play and Easter-themed activities all included, there was always something happening and plenty to keep children of all ages busy.

After all the running around, we stopped for a drink and a portion of chips, both of which were reasonably priced and hit the spot perfectly. There appeared to be a good selection of food and drink available throughout the attraction, although we kept our visit fairly simple and didn’t sample much else.
If you’re planning a visit, it’s definitely worth checking online before booking. From memory, there were discounted family ticket options available when we visited, and booking in advance often works out cheaper than paying on the day. With so many activities included in the ticket price – from animal encounters and tractor rides to the foam party and entertainment – we felt the event offered excellent value for money.
We found Skylark to be clean, well maintained and easy to navigate. Staff were visible throughout the day, and all of the activity areas appeared to be well looked after. As with any outdoor attraction, some areas could become muddy depending on the weather, so suitable footwear is recommended.
I’ll admit, before visiting I wasn’t entirely convinced there would be enough to keep us entertained for a full day. Thankfully, I couldn’t have been more wrong! Between the Easter trail, pig racing, tractor rides, animal encounters, magic show, giant slides, bouncing pillow and foam party, there was always something happening. Grayson particularly loved the pedal go-karts and football shoot-out area, both of which we found ourselves returning to throughout the day.
We stopped for a drink and some chips during our visit and found both to be reasonably priced. There appeared to be plenty of food and drink options available, making it easy to refuel between activities.
Despite visiting during the Easter event, we were pleasantly surprised by how manageable the crowds were. We were able to enjoy all of the activities without spending large portions of the day queueing, which made for a much more relaxed experience.
This is where Skylark really shone. From feeding newborn lambs and cheering on pig races to getting covered in foam and watching Esmé take part in the magic show, there were so many moments that made us smile. The children were entertained from start to finish, and we left with some wonderful family memories.
At just over £40 for a family of five, we felt the Easter event offered fantastic value for money. With so many activities included in the ticket price, we never felt pressured to spend extra money throughout the day. We managed to fit everything in and left feeling that we’d had a full day of family fun without breaking the bank.
Skylark’s Easter event exceeded our expectations and delivered a fantastic family day out from start to finish. With so many activities included in the ticket price, we were never short of things to do and managed to fit everything into our visit without feeling rushed. From feeding newborn lambs and cheering on pig races to racing pedal go-karts and dancing in the foam party, there was something for every member of the family to enjoy. What impressed us most was how engaged the children remained throughout the day. We arrived expecting a pleasant Easter event and left with some wonderful family memories, tired children and plenty of stories to tell. We would absolutely recommend Skylark’s Easter event to other families and wouldn’t hesitate to visit again!
