Our Arrival & First Impressions

We hadn’t even explored the rest of the attraction yet, and the goats had already won over the children!

Although I had visited Skylark many years ago, I was amazed by how much it had changed and developed since then. The attraction felt bigger, better and packed with even more activities for families to enjoy. As soon as we arrived, we headed straight to the goat enclosure, which has always been one of our favourite parts of any farm visit! The children loved watching them, and it was the perfect way to start our day. From those first few moments, it was clear there was plenty to see, do and explore.

Activities Breakdown

There was so much included in the Easter event that we genuinely struggled to fit everything in! The Easter trail was one of the children’s favourite activities, with them racing ahead to find the next clue while we tried to keep up.

The tractor ride was a lovely chance to sit down for a few minutes and enjoy the surroundings before heading off to our next activity. We also watched the pig racing, which was great fun and had everyone choosing a favourite. Scarlett took the competition very seriously and was absolutely delighted when her pig won – I think she was more excited about that than some of the Easter activities!

The huge bouncing pillow was an instant hit and kept the children entertained for ages. Another highlight was the giant slides. They had apparently just been cleaned, which meant they were incredibly fast – so fast that we all ended up absolutely flying down them and laughing the whole way! 😂

The pedal go-karts were a huge hit with Grayson and me. What started as a quick go turned into several laps and a very competitive race or two! Sometimes it’s the simplest activities that end up being the most memorable.

We also spent time feeding the newborn lambs, which was a really special experience, especially during Easter. The goats were another family favourite and somewhere we found ourselves returning to throughout the day.

One of the standout moments was the magic show. Esmé was delighted when she was picked to take part, and seeing her confidence shine through made it even more memorable for us as parents. She was a natural!

With animal encounters, entertainment, outdoor play and Easter-themed activities all included, there was always something happening and plenty to keep children of all ages busy.

  1. 1

    Feeding the Newborn Lambs

Getting the chance to feed the newborn lambs was a truly special experience and one that perfectly captured the spirit of the Easter event. The children loved getting up close to the animals, and it quickly became one of the most talked-about parts of our day.

    The Foam Party

The foam party was the perfect way to end our visit. The children had an absolute blast dancing, playing and throwing themselves into the foam, while the adults enjoyed watching the chaos unfold! It created a fantastic atmosphere and left everyone smiling.

    The Easter Trail

The Easter trail kept us engaged from start to finish. It encouraged us to explore the attraction together, with the children eagerly searching for clues and racing ahead to find the next one. It was a simple but effective activity that brought the whole family together and added an extra layer of fun to the day.
We (I!) may have taken the egg and spoon race a little more seriously than intended… 😂🥚

Food & Drink

After all the running around, we stopped for a drink and a portion of chips, both of which were reasonably priced and hit the spot perfectly. There appeared to be a good selection of food and drink available throughout the attraction, although we kept our visit fairly simple and didn’t sample much else.

Money-Saving Tip

If you’re planning a visit, it’s definitely worth checking online before booking. From memory, there were discounted family ticket options available when we visited, and booking in advance often works out cheaper than paying on the day. With so many activities included in the ticket price – from animal encounters and tractor rides to the foam party and entertainment – we felt the event offered excellent value for money.

A Tried & Tested - Day Out With The Kids
Safety & Cleanliness4.0

We found Skylark to be clean, well maintained and easy to navigate. Staff were visible throughout the day, and all of the activity areas appeared to be well looked after. As with any outdoor attraction, some areas could become muddy depending on the weather, so suitable footwear is recommended.
