West Wittering Beach, West Wittering

Speaking of summer, a real summer vacation calls for a trip to the beach and the best one to head to in West Sussex is, without a doubt, the beautiful West Wittering Beach. This area of the coast is sandy, so be sure to bring your buckets and spades, to be ready for castle building. Plus, at low tide, there are lots of good spots where the little ones can paddle in shallow water.

Into water sports? West Wittering Beach is also popular with surfers and windsurfers, so feel free to bring your board and have a go at catching a wave. Just want to chill out? Grab a cold coffee for you and an ice cream for the kids, relax and enjoy the sun!

Tulleys Farm, Crawley

No one understands parenting like other parents do, so family-run attractions like Tulleys Farm always seem to offer something extra. Starting off with the usual farmyard fun, you’ll have the chance to meet plenty of adorable animals at the Animal Patch. But that’s not all!

Tulleys Farm runs family-friendly escape rooms where you and the kids will have to join forces to crack all sorts of mind-boggling puzzles, in order to break out in time. With 60 minutes on the clock, the game is sure to give you a thrill.

Tilgate Park, Crawley

How about a day at the park? Tilgate Park is a classic choice for a day out during the West Sussex school holidays. If you live in the region, you’ve probably been there plenty of times and yet – it’s always worth coming back! Surrounded by lakes, woodlands and spacious green fields you can walk, play, cycle and simply enjoy some peace and fresh air.

If your kids are up for some educational fun, it’s a good idea to visit the nature centre at the park where you can meet and learn about various animals. Rather do something more active? There’s a Go Ape treetop course at Tilgate Park.
