What can I expect at an Open Farm Sunday event?
LEAF Open Farm Sunday is an annual event held in the United Kingdom and Ireland that celebrates and raises awareness of farming and the countryside. This event encourages farmers to open their farms to visitors so they can learn more about how food is produced, where it comes from and enjoy a variety of fun activities.
Open Farm Sunday offers a unique opportunity for people to experience the farming industry and everyday farm life. An ideal chance for families to grab their wellies and get out into the countryside!
An interactive farm experience for visitors with many farm events offering the chance to get up close with farm animals, take part in tractor rides and see machinery displays. Each individual farm taking part can choose how you can find out their farming story from farm tours and farm walks, to nature trails, pond dipping and activities for children. There may even be exciting extras like a bouncy castle or live music at some events.
Don’t forget your visitor experience is not complete without a trip to the farm shop for some ice cream, sweet treats or fresh farm milk and produce.
