Ponds Forge

Ponds Forge Leisure Centre has a pool but it’s not any ordinary swimming pool. It’s got 2 covered flumes which will have you swooshing down right from the top of the building! Also, once the wave machine comes on, the main pool will immediately become much more exciting.

Want to just chill out (it’s the Sheffield school holidays season after all..)? Float and glide around the main pool along the lazy river. And if you’ve got tiny kiddies or babies there is also a special mini pool for you, featuring mini fountains and a fun dolphin.

Tropical Butterfly House

Sheffield sounds as far from a tropical destination as it gets and yet the Tropical Butterfly House will make you feel like you’ve flown to an exotic island far, far away. Surrounded by hundreds of beautiful butterflies, walking through the meerkats’ enclosure, spotting crocodiles and snakes…You’ll quickly forget how close to home you actually are!

If it seems like your little ones just want to make friends with any living creature on the planet, then the animal encounters at the Tropical Butterfly House are also a must. From feeding the goats to meeting the ponies – it doesn’t get much up-close and more personal than this.

Highfield Adventure Playground

We know that entry prices can get quite overwhelming when you’ve got more than one child in the family. It doesn’t mean that fun during the Sheffield school holidays has to cost you an arm and a leg. We’ve added a free suggestion to our list – Highfield Adventure Playground.

With outdoor and indoor play areas at your disposal, Highfield Adventure Playground is the perfect solution for your family day out. No matter the weather! When the sun’s out your little adventurers will be swinging across the place on a zip wire, swooshing down the tunnel slide and getting all wet on the water pumps.

On a rainy day, you can play pool and table tennis, while the younger ones get busy with various arts and crafts.
