Halloween and Pumpkin Picking at Wester Hardmuir

The Catacombs at Wester Hardmuir have been turned into a Halloween Maze for 2026, a complex route spread through the farm's tunnels with puzzles to solve along the way. It is the new thing here this year, and it sits alongside the picking rather than replacing it.

The pumpkins are homegrown, so you choose yours straight from the patch on the farm that grew it. Face painting is part of the line-up, and hot food and drinks come from the farm's new Sitooterie, including the return of Hardmuir Pumpkin Soup.

This is a family-run Scottish fruit farm and farm shop rather than a dedicated Halloween site. It sells homegrown fruit and vegetables, locally sourced produce and homemade bakes, and runs seasonal pick-your-own fruit from June onwards, seven days a week. The farm shop stays open daily, 9am to 5pm, alongside the October event.

The thing to settle before setting off is the date. Halloween at Wester Hardmuir runs on selected October dates only: 15, 16, 17 and 18 October, then 22, 23, 24 and 25 October, and finally 31 October. Each open day runs 9am to 5pm, and the last entry into the maze is 4pm, so an afternoon arrival needs a little planning.
