Our Arrival & First Impressions
Upon arrival, I was impressed by the quiet and calm atmosphere. This meant plenty of parking and a short walk to the entrance. The staff at the gift shop were incredibly polite and friendly, especially when checking our booking.
Activities Breakdown
Our four-year-old thoroughly enjoyed a wide range of activities including slides, zip-lines climbing areas a sandpit and the impressive ‘sky maze’. Avery particularly loved the ‘Twiggle Village’ area and had an amazing time, refusing to leave. Our one-year-old enjoyed the smaller play areas and the charming fairytale-style walks. Alistair particularly enjoyed the ‘Twiggle Whizzers’. A bonus is that younger babies are free on midweek (dates may vary).

Huge Slides!
Honestly, it was loads of fun! You get a little sack at the entrance to the slides to wear on your feet. I wore loose trousers and I’ve never flown down a slide so fast. It’s a must-do!!

Sand Areas
We discovered two suitable areas for toddlers and older children. Each featured a smaller wooden play area with a slide and an under-cover sandpit. Our four-year-old thoroughly enjoyed it and it helped him wind down after his energetic playtime and slide rides.

Well Maintained Woodlands
The walks between each area are beautiful. The woodlands are full of flowers and well-maintained with plenty of shade. This was a welcome relief on a warm but muggy day, offering protection from a short drizzle and the sun’s rays..
Food & Drink
There is an area called the ‘munch bar’ which was open to purchase food and drinks. We noticed a few other snack/ice cream huts around other areas and plenty of benches dotted about to eat at.
As we came in May and midweek the smaller places were closed, but this didn’t affect us as we brought a picnic!
Money-Saving Tip
Bewilderwood allow you to bring your own picnic which made it a much more affordable day out. Our youngest has a cow-milk allergy so it’s a lot easier to prepare our own. We took hot dogs in a thermos flask, disposable plates, and snacks.

Overall Verdict & Ratings
Safety is definitely a priority here, lots of staff around. The cleanliness is spotless; we didn’t see any rubbish and there are plenty of bins.
Great for 4 and upwards, not much for below that age so wouldn’t make a solo trip with anyone younger IMO.
We didn’t eat here so I can’t comment but there seemed to be plenty of options especially during peak times.
We visited during the mid-week and were delighted to find it incredibly quiet. This suited us perfectly as our son struggles with large queues and crowded spaces. There were plenty of parking spaces and ample room for our four-year-old to run around freely.
We had a fantastic day out as a family at Bewilderwood. Everyone enjoyed something. My husband went on the larger zip line and slides and thoroughly enjoyed them. Avery was asking for days after if he could go again - so he definitely had a great time!
We got huge value for money when we visited Bewilderwood during the week. They offer a ‘Toddlewood’ ticket for £12.50 which lets one parent and one preschool-aged child in. Babies and children under 92cm are free and carers are also free with valid proof (I used my sons DLA award letter). A full day out cost us just £12.50 – can’t complain at all!
The Final Verdict:
Honestly, I think it’s a great place to visit. Kids can run around and enjoy nature whilst exploring and playing. Did not feel over-stimulating and could take it at our own pace. The friendly and polite staff created a warm atmosphere. I highly recommend it and would definitely return.
