The trails wind through lush, green forest, offering breathtaking views of towering trees, peaceful ponds, and wide open spaces. As you wander, keep an eye out for some local wildlife! You might be able to see deer, squirrels and a variety of bird species. Oh and it’s even more beautiful during the changing seasons – think vibrant spring flowers, golden autumn leaves and crisp icy blue frost.

Follow the Themed Trails

Sherwood Pines is home to a variety of themed trails that bring stories to life in the heart of the forest! Last year, Sherwood Pines celebrated the Gruffalo’s 25th birthday with a special Gruffalo Trail! The adventure came with a fun trail pack to guide your journey as you explored the forest, hunting for 15 hidden panels, missing party items, and 5 rubbing stations.

What trail is running now? You may be wondering! Well, there’s a brand new Stick Man trail! Follow the Stick Man’s journey back to the family tree, with plenty of interactive panels along the way! Kids can even enjoy building with sticks and spotting the wildlife!

It’s a magical way to keep the kids engaged while exploring the stunning woodland surroundings. These trails are perfect for young adventurers, combining nature, storytelling, and outdoor fun!

Swing Through the Trees at Go Ape

For those who love an adrenaline rush, Go Ape Sherwood Pines is the place to be! Tackle tree-to-tree crossings, high ropes, wobbly bridges, and epic zip lines. Theer are two exciting courses to choose from: the Treetop Adventure (for those over 1m tall) and Treetop Adventure Plus (for those over 6).

Don’t fancy taking to the treetops? They also have a Forest Segway adventure which is the perfect way to explore the forest!

What Is The BRAND NEW Play Area?

Sherwood Pines has officially unveiled its exciting new woodland adventure play area, and it looks amazing! Inspired by the historic King John’s Palace, the King John’s Castle play structure was designed with accessibility and exploration in mind!

Did you know that King John’s Palace was historically located near Sherwood Pines and was used as a residence by several Kings, including Henry II, Richard I and Edward?! 

This woodland-themed play area features a castle-themed structure with a gentle ramp, wobbly clatter bridge and a climbing tree. Kids can also explore the secret den, tunnel, kitchen and dungeon! There’s also plenty of tactile elements to engage children with sensory needs. There are plenty of ways to go up, down, and all around with a balance trail, tube slide and trebuchet swing.
