Grace, a Day Out With The Kids Family Influencer and her family were lucky enough to experience it firsthand, so read on to find out more.
Where is Yorkshire Wildlife Park?
It’s the perfect place to visit if you love animals and want to find out more about them, whilst exploring and adventuring through different
immersive environments and play areas.
You’ll find different animal regions throughout the park, themed play areas and live shows. Plus enjoy ranger talks, as well as Pangea. This is a new addition to the park where you can discover some of the largest and most terrifying species to ever roam the Earth.
There is also The Hive, which offers a themed restaurant, soft play and shops.

Grace’s Yorkshire Wildlife Park Experience
This isn’t our first trip to the Yorkshire Wildlife Park. We last visited in 2020, and the changes that have taken place since then are remarkable! The park seems to have doubled in size.
The Yorkshire Hive opened in 2021, and this is now where you begin your experience. here you are greeted first with the Evolution restaurant and the UpRoar soft play .
There really is something for everyone. Every little detail has been considered, the setting is immaculate and it really is a welcoming start to the day. It is worth noting you will also exit the park this way, so the restaurant or soft play would be the perfect way to end your trip.
Once you’ve passed through the Yorkshire Hive and enter the park, you’re met with Pangea which is the latest addition to the park and home to the dinosaurs. Now the day can really begin…
Pangea-Discovery of Dinosaurs
One for the dinosaur lovers! This area of the park gives you the opportunity to walk amongst pre-historic giants through five unique lands of Pangea. Whilst it isn’t what you might expect from a wildlife park, it certainly grasped the attention of my four year old who loved finding out more about every dinosaur from the terrifying T-rex to the villainous Velociraptor. There’s sound effects, movement and watch out… because you might even get a bit wet!
Animals at Yorkshire Wildlife Park
Whether you love tigers, or prefer the meerkats – you’ll find it at Yorkshire Wildlife Park!
The animals are split between different regions throughout the park, each with a huge amount of attention to detail so that you really feel like you’re going on an adventure across the world. The regions include:
● Into Africa! which is home to zebra, giraffes and antelopes to name but a few. This region will give you the chance to step foot on a safari adventure… right in the heart of Yorkshire!
● Point Lobos aka home to the Sea Lions
● Atlantic Forest where you can explore the atlantic coast of Brazil and spot animals
including Tapir and Bush Dogs
● Experience Ethiopia and be transported to the incredible landscapes, home to hyena
and monkeys
● Himalayan Pass which gives you the opportunity to spot Red Panda and otters
● Project Polar – the largest polar bear centre outside Canada
● Lion Country – our favourite! Take a walk around the edge of their vast enclosure and
watch the lions interact with one another. Truly special.
● Woodland Trail where you can see lemurs, African painted dogs and baboons.
Each region also offers specific ranger talks, as well as animal experiences. These are costed separately.

Play areas at Yorkshire Wildlife Park
We all know the kids love a playground on a day out. Yorkshire Wildlife Park really has not just one but five different play areas that even includes one soft play.
These play areas cater to all ages, with swings and small climbing ‘bugs’ for younger children all the way through to the Jungle Lookout. Even adults could get hours of enjoyment out of this area.
Just beware – your kids might be having too much fun on the playground to do anything else!
