A Garden of Colourful Wonders: The Tulip Festival

If you’re looking for a springtime adventure that is above all and will leave you with magical memories. Then we think the Hampton Court Palace Tulip Festival is 100% worth it. It’ll be like stepping into a rainbow!

Imagine oceans of orange, rivers of red, and valleys of violet, with over 100,000 tulip bulbs (give or take) turning Henry VIII’s famous grounds into a technicolour dreamland. The tulip gardens are a kaleidoscope of colour that is definitely on my list of things to do in April!

It’s the perfect way to celebrate springtime family fun! Explore the grounds with friends or families, snap pictures of the beautiful blooms and show-stopping displays and immerse yourself in 60 acres of pure floral bliss.

But that’s not all! It’s time you head to the courtyards where you can discover the Tudor wine fountain, and incredible floating tulip vases and uncover rare and specialist varieties that were inspired by Mary II’s famous 17th-century collection! It’s not one to miss.

And let’s not forget the other fantastic garden tours, floral displays and workshops. Led by the green-fingered gurus who know every secret of the soil, these tours are your chance to get the lowdown on how to turn your garden into a wonderland (or, at least, keep a houseplant alive).

So, let’s enjoy the spring weather as you admire the stunning displays of vibrant tulips!

Although, there’s more to the royal palace than the Hampton Court Palace Tulip Festival! You need to explore the Great Hall and the Haunted Gallery and Processional Route to the Magic Garden too!

The Magic Garden is where kids will be wide-eyed with wonder as they explore the fantastical playground where myths come to life, dragons roam (safely, of course), and the plants tell tales. They can also become wildlife explorers as they embark on a bug hunt!
