The Hawk Conservancy Trust offers great value family days out with three daily flying displays, talks, demonstrations, tractor trailer rides, a Vulture Voyage Adventure Trail and a Nature Explorer Trail all included in the admission ticket price – all while helping raise funds for the bird of prey charity’s conservation and research work!

Our Explorer Trail has had some new activities added, giving our aspiring explorers the opportunity to get hands-on, interactive, enter our prize draw and collect a stamp!

BIG WILD WEEKEND – Saturday 8 – Sunday 9 August

The perfect time to visit for all minibeast detectives, plant enthusiasts and nature lovers – a chance to go wild! Join the Trust us on this bonanza weekend when alongside its normal daily activities, you can join in with a range of fantastic nature-focused activities at no extra cost. You could even meet Nigel Marven, the British wildlife TV presenter, naturalist, conservationist, author and television producer who will be at the Trust on both days. Nigel is best known as presenter of the BBC miniseries Chased by Dinosaurs, its sequel, Sea Monsters, and for the ITV miniseries Prehistoric Park. Book early and you might be able to grab one of Nigel’s limited ‘Meet and Greet’ slots. Otherwise, visitors on the day will be able to see Nigel appearing as part of the ‘Master of the Sky’ Display at 2pm on both days.

ART WEEKEND – Saturday 22 – Sunday 23 August

This one’s for lovers of wildlife and art. The Trust will be hosting artists exhibiting their work, including Artist in Residence Alex McGarry who will be creating a live bird-themed masterpiece which visitors can see come to life before their eyes. Amid the inspirational beauty of the 22-acre woodland and wildflower meadow settings, visitors will discover a range of art-based activities to enjoy in addition to the usual fun-packed daily timetable.

INTERNATIONAL VULTURE AWARENESS DAY – Saturday 5 September

If you don’t think vultures are fun, then think again! As part of the serious business of raising awareness of these fascinating yet endangered birds, visitors can enjoy even more vultures than normal swooping inches above their heads and a host of vulture-themed activities throughout the day – all celebrating these ecologically important and often misunderstood creatures.

The Hawk Conservancy Trust is dedicated to conservation, research and education concerning birds of prey and their habitats both in the UK and overseas, and utilises income from its visitor centre near Andover, Hampshire, to fund its work.
