Pumpkin-Fest at The Walled Garden

A walled garden is an unusual setting for a pumpkin patch, and it shapes what this one is: contained, photogenic and built around wandering rather than trudging. Pumpkin-Fest returns for its fourth year in 2026.

The ticket buys a 30 minute slot to enter the patch, though once you are inside you are welcome to stay as long as you like. It also covers printed photo booth pictures, a bingo sheet for children to work through and more than ten photo locations set up around the garden. The pumpkins themselves are bought from the patch and are not part of the ticket price.

What is on changes with the day. Face painting and costumed Pumpkin Patch People appear at weekends, along with Albert's coffee truck, and street food traders selling pizza and bao buns turn up on selected dates. Halloween-themed art classes run from 26 to 30 October with Easily Does It, and photographer Sophie Bruce Watt offers free 15 minute mini photoshoots on 17, 18, 24, 25 and 31 October. The cafe leans into the season with pumpkin soup, spiced lattes, pumpkin pie and cinnamon doughnuts.

Two things to know before setting off. This is a ticketed-only event and walk-ins are not guaranteed, so a ticket bought in advance is the only reliable way in. And it is an outdoor, parent-managed experience aimed at children up to 12, with adult supervision required throughout, so it is not an afternoon to sit out with a coffee. Dogs are welcome as long as they stay on a lead at all times.
