With Halloween only just a month away, it’s time to start brainstorming costume ideas… Do you go bring your favourite characters to life, like Riley’s emotions from Inside Out, or do you go scary with a terrifying zombie? How about going with family or friends and forming a group Halloween costume?

We’ve listed what we think will be the coolest and most perfect costumes for Halloween! And if you don’t agree, then we hope we’ll give you some costume inspiration – because Halloween is the time to get creative and have bounds of fun!

🎃 Spooky season is HERE!! So, we’ve created a brand new Halloween Events page where you can find all the best Halloween events with just a simple click! 🎃

Scooby-Doo and the Mystery Gang

A fun group costume idea would be to recreate the classic Scooby-Doo gang!

All you need is 5 people and a creative streak… But if you only have 4 meddling kids who want to join in AND you have a dog…then you’ve got yourself a mystery gang. Grab some colourful outfits that represent each character and some really cool wigs and start solving some spooky mysteries.

Don’t forget the Scooby snacks if you want to go the extra mile! Have a Scooby Dooby Halloween!

Care Bears

Now, if you love to be cute and cuddly or you have a bunch of kids in your family/friendship group that would look seriously adorable in oversized costumes…then listen up.

Everyone thinks that kids in onesies, especially animal onesies, are totes cute. Well, make a Care Bear group Halloween costume and maybe you’ll end up getting all the Halloween treats this year… You can’t go wrong here!

Plus, it’ll keep you warm when trick or treating!

Taylor Swift Eras

If you have a girl gang or Taylor Swift fans who love dressing up, why not enjoy an Eras Tour-style costume?

Each of you can dress up as one of Taylor’s eras, like the ‘Not A Lot Going On At The Moment’ t-shirt with black shorts from Red, or a long white dress for the Tortuted Poets Department. You could have a sparkly moment for 1989 and Midnights, a snake-themed outfit for Rep, pink and pretty for Lover, or gold and sparkly for Fearless. There’s loads of options from all the eras that you can embody – making it the perfect group costume (I’m obviously biased here, hehe).

Stranger Things & Hellfire Club

Any Stranger Things fans out there? After the 80s TV show debuting on the theatre stage this year, it’s time to bring it back for Halloween this year! Stranger Things is the perfect Halloween group inspiration to turn into reality – especially the Hellfire Club! All you need are Hellfire shirts which you can get from Amazon or HMV, a denim jacket and a wig – and you’ve got yourself an Eddie double!

Plus, if you already live in denim jackets and jeans (like me), then it’s a minimal-effort Halloween costume, but one everybody will love. All you need are matching shirts donning the Hellfire print and you’re good to go!

Or you can embody the 80s look, and find leg warmers, a Scoops Ahoy outfit or the classic long-sleeved, checkered shirt and jeans combo!

Superhero Gang

So, there’s not been a shortage of superheroes in the last couple of years, has there? Whether you choose to dress up as Deadpool & Wolverine, Scarlett Witch, the 3 Captain Marvels (Carol Danvers, Kamala Khan and Monica Rambeau). Maybe you can choose the iconic Guardians of the Galaxy or the Justice League OR Avengers costumes – I think that’s the winner.

It’s the perfect excuse to let your superhero love be shown to your peers with some wicked costumes. And if your kids are into Marvel or DC, then it will obviously make the perfect Halloween costume for the family group!

Here are some Superhero costumes for kids:

The Magical Trio – Harry Potter, Hermionie Granger and Ronald Weasley

Everyone loves the magical world that brought up a whole generation. Whether you’re a book or iconic movie lover, Harry Potter costumes are a timeless classic.

Gather your black-rimmed glasses, draw on a scar with a black marker, mess up your hair and wear your old school uniform. If you have a wand, even better – if not, any stick from the garden will do. Magic is in the eye of the beholder, right?

You can, of course, choose entirely different characters! Whether you just want to dress up in a witch costume from the books or your favourite character – mine is Luna Lovegood!

This could be the chance to make some really creative group costume ideas – so who’s up for it?

Scary Family Costumes

If you’re the type of family who loves scary movies, then, of course, a group of creepy costumes isn’t off the cards. Whether you dress up as terrifying murderous clowns or vampires with blood dripping down your faces. Halloween is the time and place to get really creative and let your imagination run wild!

Will you dress up as zombies or creepy characters from the scariest movies – Ghost Face, babadook, the nun and so on…

There is only one time of year to get truly gory and spooky!

Disney Group Costumes

There is a whole HOST of costume fun you can have with Disney. From being the pride of lions to Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Wendy and the Lost Boys. Maybe you want to be a Princess? No worries, you could gather a group of people who want to dress up like all the Disney Princesses – there’s plenty to go around.

Who said group Halloween costumes have to be with people? If you have Dalmatian dogs, you can easily dress up as Cruella De Vil and take them for a walk! You’ll get to see everyone else dress up, take part yourself and give your pooches a nice evening walk. You’ve just killed two birds with one stone there!

Finally, my personal favourite, how about Winne the Pooh? Find your Eeyore, Tigger, Pooh Bear, Piglet and even Christopher Robin!

The Night Before Christmas

If you love the spirit of Halloween but are not really up to dressing in really scary costumes – how about characters from this iconic movie?

You have a choice of Jack Skellington, Sally, Oogie Boogie, Dr. Finkelstein and the Mayor – plus more! For Jack, you need a pinstripe suit, skeleton makeup and a bow tie. For Sally, find yourself some tatty clothes, a red wig, and some bluish makeup for her skin, and you’re pretty much ready!

Here are a few fabulous Jack Skellington costumes:

Beetlejuice Ensemble

With the release of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, it’s the perfect opportunity to dress up as the iconic characters with Beetlejuice-inspired costumes.

From the infamous black and white striped suit with a frizzy wig to a yellow suit with a Bob nametag and black dress! It’s not too hard to find inspiration in this iconic classic with a resurgence in popularity!

Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich

If you’re looking for a funny but cute duo costume – you’ve found it.

Whether you go as best friends or a cute couple’s costume – it’s sweet, quirky and a great conversation starter.

Plus, it’s an uncommon Halloween costume, meaning no one will have the same outfit at a party as you!

Hocus Pocus

It’s a no-brainer that Halloween can’t be celebrated without the Sanderson Sisters! With the seasonal popularity of Hocus Pocus coming back around, it makes for a fang-tastic group Halloween costume idea! It’s a classic Halloween movie with oodles of Halloween spirit!

Get dressed up, head on out and take the night this Halloween as you indulge in all sweet treats and terrific tricks! Happy Halloween!

So, whether you’re heading to a costume party and want to show off your dance moves, looking for a last-minute costume or need to think of the funniest group costume ideas or just want to dress up as something different. We hope you’ve found some inspiration here.
