Miniature Pony Centre

"what are we doing today?"

The Miniature Pony Centre is home to miniature ponies, tiny donkeys and a host of other breeds and animals, making it an enchanting day out for everyone.

The traditional stable yard and covered barn provide easy access to meeting them, even in bad weather.

There is a full programme of free hands on activities and displays every day.

Why not come and join in, Groom a pony, feed the ducks, work the loader on a real tractor or even help to herd the ponies into the barn and feed them.

Children aged 3 to 10 are able to have a pony ride, each rider is awarded with a rosette, (there is a additional charge for pony rides, which run twice per day weather permitting).

During the school holidays, children’s entertainers perform on most days.

Burn off excess energy in one of the many indoor or outdoor play areas, including: Fort Bovey indoor assault course, Horse Play indoor soft play area, The Little Foals play park, Dartmoor Castle adventure playground, mini tractors, zipwire and trampolines.

"i'm hungry"

The Paddock View Cafe offers a choice of seating. When the sun is shining, you can sit outside on the terrace overlooking the paddock and enjoy the views across the Miniature Pony Centre, or you may prefer to sit inside in the conservatory style cafe and enjoy the warmth of sitting away from the cold with the ambience and surroundings of nature that the Centre provides. We offer a full range of refreshments, including morning coffees, light lunches, cream teas, cakes, and, of course, pony biscuits: so whether you want a quick snack, a refreshing drink or even a family lunch, we cater for all. Or during those sunny summer days, why not treat yourself to a local ice-cream.

"Can I have one of those?"

And if you have a sweet tooth or if you have promised the children a treat, we have a selection of confectionary and iced lollies.

Visitor Reviews

What a well thought out attraction - proof that the simplest things are real winners when it comes to entertaining Children! Getting hands on with the animals, spearding straw in the barn, grooming a pig in our case and working the front loader on a real tractor were all massive hits for us! The nature trail and well maintained play areas (indoor and out) are the icing on the cake. This centre shows the way it should be done in our book if you are in Devon or North COrnwall make the effort to get there we don't think you'll be disappointed!
