If you're the lucky owner of pre-school aged children bring them along for an old school hour of fun and frolics in the forest! It may be a short pushchair friendly walk, crafts using natural materials, or wildlife themed games.
Wear suitable clothes and be prepared to get muddy! Every Thursday in term time, 10:00 to 11:00. £2 per child. No need to book, just turn up!
There's also a fantastic Go Ape course for the over 10s: think you, your friends and family can handle 3 hours of tree top adventure? Can you climb 30ft up a rope ladder, Tarzan Swing into a giant rope net then zip wire through trees, crawl through tunnels and tackle high wire rope bridges, all with dry pants? If the answer' yes, you're ready to Go Ape!
Plus, cool orienteering sessions, either self-programming or staff led, can be booked through the Discovery Centre on 01299 266929. There are 3 smart orienteering courses for the public to freely use at the Callow Hill site, using a map available from the Visitor Centre for around a £1. Accessed from the Buzzard trail, the 2 hectare arboretum in the Wyre Forest has been managed by the Wyre Forest Society for over 20 years.
There's an adventure play area for small children too plus the woodpecker tower! You can phone for a full list of school and group activities, as well as for the 'Events' programme which has some seasonal stuff well worth watching out for!
