Treat your family to a day of wildlife encounters, fun play, and beautiful scenery. WWT Washington Wetland Centre is home to rare wildfowl, flamingos, otters and cranes and much more. If you have a budding David Attenborough with you, this trip will make them burst into bloom!
Your child can enjoy hand-feeding ducks and geese in the Ganderland area, and they might even catch a glimpse of the rarest goose in the world. If they're more a fan of the furry friend, take them to see the otters. This little band have been delighting visitors for quite some time!
Fancy some flamboyance? See if you can find the flamingos. There are generally talks about the animals that are run twice daily so if you want to know more about any of these amazing creatures, pop along!
Visitors are free to explore the 25 hectares of nature reserve with their unique brackish water river suitable for wetland creatures, and kids are equally welcome to head to the WWT Washington Wetland Centre play area, Playscape!
