Attraction Information

Worcester City Art Gallery and Museum has plenty for families to see and do and it is free to visit.  It has a lively programme of activities, exhibitions, and events, plus a great collection that covers a number of subjects.

Things To Do
Follow exciting family trails inspired by the regularly changing exhibitions, get stuck into workshops in the holidays, and enjoy the fantastic activity bags as you explore the museum.

Highlights to look out for include a real-life chemist shop from Worcester (you can see its original lamp which featured on the BBC's The Repair Shop too!), fossils and natural history, the fascinating local glove-making industry - and, of course, the Worcestershire Sauce archive. The collections cover areas such as geology, social history, archaeology, natural history, art and a military exhibition from the Worcestershire Yeomanry Cavalry and the Worcestershire Regiment.

Kids will love the Activity Space, which is a bright and welcoming space in the heart of the museum, where various materials are supplied so you can create your own masterpiece, or just sit and watch the kids have fun. There are so many different objects to see relating to the history of Worcester, and the people who have lived in it. The temporary exhibitions change regularly, so check online before you visit to find out about this and the other events held at the museum, especially during the school holidays.

And why not finish your visit with a hot chocolate and cake or some lunch from the friendly Little Al's at the Balcony café
