Attraction Information
At West Wight Sports Centre there's a warm and welcoming 12m learner pool for kids and beginners, plus an excellent 25m 6 lane swimming pool with the Isle of Wights' only public diving boards! They also a cool Water Survival Course for competent swimmers over 11 years where you get to swim in your clothes and practice rescuing others and keeping yourself safe.
During half terms and the summer holidays they lay on additional activities for a range of young age groups, usually including musical movement, arts and crafts, family activities and seasonal parties! Other things on site include Table Tennis facilities and the HQ for the West Wight girls' football team.
Just across the car park there are also skate park facilities and more outdoor sports space.
It's a point of interest that the pool was actually dug by hand in the 1970s by a group of local parents who then raised the funds from within the community to get it formalised and opened, all so they could have somewhere local to teach their children to swim. Wonderful!
