West Lodge Rural Centre is a small, family owned farm that gives you the opportunity to get hands-on experience with a variety of animals.
The cuddle corner is home to the farm’s cute and fluffies where a daily programme helps visitors get as close as possible. Over in the demonstration barn watch and learn about the jobs that take place on a working farm such as sheep shearing and lambing, you can also pick up some freshly laid eggs from the hen and poultry.
The animal paddocks are glorious, green spaces where the larger animals roam and graze. Look out into the countryside and spot sheep, cattle, goats and ponies. The piggery is a very busy and noisy place with new litters every six-eight weeks. Children can also enjoy the outdoor play area and indoor play barn or take a wander down the extensive nature trails.

A great day for little ones

I visited the farm with a friend and our 14 month old boys. Excellent outdoor play area and a covered barn with ride on tractors if the weather isn't great. A lot of activities to keep busy for most of the day. We opted for the tractor/trailer ride which was interesting for us to learn about the farm and enough to see to keep the boys attention for 10 minutes! Highly recommend watching the piggy race and barrel ride. Great picnic areas and restaurant food is lovely although a bit pricey. Overall a great day out for younger children.
Brilliant day out

Visited here on Thursday of half term. Got to feed the lambs, see the animals and play on the great adventure playground. We had two preschoolers and five year old they loved it. We did bring a pack up but it was a bit too chilly so we decided to have a hot lunch. It did take a while but it was half term and when our food arrived it was delicious. Will definitely be back :)
