Wellcome Collection is somewhere different to take the kids to expand their minds!
There are a number of different collections around subjects such as ‘Life, Genes and You', ‘Mind and Body' and ‘Science and Art' all presented in an interesting and interactive way.
Displays to look out for include coloured Scanning Electron Microscope images, a hollow man with light up organs, shoes made of nails for an Indian Fakir plus a sculpture of an obese person with no head! There is also a slideshow of the photos of everything eaten by one person in a year, a video of a fish evolving into a man and one showing a Caesarian Section.
The friendly staff wear tshirts with “Ask me” written on them and they really are happy to answer any questions that you or the kids may have.
Kids will enjoy this curious mixture of medicine, research and art and will have plenty to think (and talk) about after their visit.
