Attraction Information
Weald Country Park offers an idyllic day out alongside nature, and although there are no physical play facilities there are still plenty of things to get involved with from seasonal guided adventures to visiting the cute deer at the centre.
The friendly Ranger service at Weald Park and Thorndon Park offers loads of special activities throughout the year, largely during the school holidays so they're nice and easy to find time for! Led activities for children vary from investigating flowers and learning about insects to cool kite making and spooky Halloween walks! Plus you can also tag along on one of the educational walks and tours for families throughout the year on topics such as natural history, fungi and seasonal country park management. It's a great way to make the most of your day and get some secret schooling in while they're interested.
Weald Country Park is located to the west of Brentwood and at nearly 500 acres it is the largest of the Essex County Council Country Parks so even in high summer you'll be able to find a peaceful spot if you try. The park was once a deer park used for hunting and fallow deer have been reintroduced though of course not for the same purpose. They are no longer able to roam free, but can be visited in their enclosure by the Visitor Centre and look their best in autumn as the males display their fine antlers.
