Venue type: Indoor, Outdoor

Waterside Museum is dedicated to preserving the social and industrial history of the Craigavon area. It is free to visit, and set on Oxford Island Nature Reserve, which also has a Discovery Centre and a Marina to enjoy.
There collection includes photographs, objects illustrating the local waterways and canal systems, plus objects that provide information about industry and life around the south shore of Lough Neagh, plus material relating to the development of Craigavon.
The kids will particularly love the opportunity to see a barge that is thought to be one of the last used to work on Lough Neagh. It is pretty old as it was built around 1900, and was first used on the Lagan Canal, before being converted to a Sand Barge to be used on the Lough. Craigavon Museum Services are restoring the barge, to better illustrate the heritage and history of inland waterways in the surrounding area.
An interesting place to take the kids while you are exploring all the Oxford Island has to offer.
